Nicholas Politis
Nick Politis' musical journey began at John Bowne High School, where they first discovered a passion for music and the bass. It was here that the foundation for their lifelong commitment to music was laid. Eager to expand their knowledge, Nick Politis began studying jazz at York College before transferring to Queensborough Community College. At QCC, they earned an Associate of Science in Music Performance, refining their skills and deepening their musical understanding.
Continuing their academic pursuit, Nick Politis went on to complete a Bachelor of Arts in Music at Hunter College, where they further honed their musicianship and broadened their appreciation for diverse musical traditions. This passion for both performance and teaching led them to pursue a Master of Science in Music Education at Queens College, where they gained the tools to inspire the next generation of musicians.
Now a proud member of the PS 329 community, Nick Politis is committed to creating an inclusive environment where music is accessible to all students, regardless of background or experience. Their philosophy centers on the belief that music is for everyone and that anyone can participate in its creation. Under their guidance, the school’s music programs have flourished. The guitar club has grown stronger each year, providing students with a space to explore their creativity, while the orchestra program has gained traction with nearly 30 students actively participating. Additionally, the piano program, utilizing the *Music and the Brain* approach, is fostering cognitive and emotional growth among students in impactful ways.
Nick Politis is excited to continue nurturing the music program at PS 329, looking forward to the future of the students they teach and the community they serve. With a focus on accessibility, creativity, and growth, Nick Politis is dedicated to making music a transformative experience for every student they encounter.
