Diane Ceballos

Ms. Diane is the Senior Occupational Therapist at East Elmhurst Community School (EECS). She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Applied Psychology from New York University and her Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from Columbia University. As a school-based occupational therapist, Ms. Diane uses meaningful, occupation-based activities to support children and youth in participating in academics, play and leisure, social participation, self-care, and transition/work skills. Her professional focus includes sensory integration, as well as activity and environmental analysis and modification, with the goal of reducing barriers to participation and engagement.

Ms. Diane is one of the founding staff members at EECS and has had the pleasure of witnessing the school community’s growth and expansion over the years. In addition to providing direct therapy services, she serves on the school’s Child Study Team, where she collaborates with interdisciplinary team members to support students with academic needs. In early 2020, Ms. Diane launched Glasses in Classes Day, a school-wide initiative designed to reduce stigma and promote acceptance of wearing glasses at school.
